CSG West has added new updates to its Forging a Resilient West dashboard, a daily updated hub for wildfire legislation tracking, bill comparisons, policy briefings, and tools supporting Western policymakers. The latest briefing highlights wildfire-related legislation from Washington’s 2026 session, including two enacted measures and two bills delivered to the governor.
Enacted legislation includes the Wildfire Alleviation Support Act, which aims to restore and secure funding for Washington’s wildfire response, forest restoration, and community resilience account. Lawmakers also made permanent a pilot program to provide funding and support for local and tribal fire departments to access aviation resources for wildland fire suppression.
Additional measures awaiting executive action address wildfire home hardening—limiting restrictions on fire-resistant building materials and establish a statewide authority to strengthen electric transmission infrastructure while supporting nonwire alternatives and technologies to reduce wildfire risk.
CSG West will continue updating the dashboard to provide timely insights and information for policymakers navigating the wildfire challenges across the West.
