Matthew GriffinAfter graduating from West Point, Matthew Griffin served four tours of duty as an Army Ranger in Afghanistan and Iraq. After leaving the Army, he used his experience and knowledge to co-found Combat Flip Flops where he currently serves as CEO. Selling goods manufactured in conflict and post-conflict zones since 2006, the company encourages peace through trade and “business over bullets”. Today, they operate in Afghanistan, Laos, and Columbia where their profits are used to help local populations pull themselves out of poverty. In addition to his work at Combat Flip Flops, Matthew also serves as a logistics officer for Team 5 Foundation, an organization comprised of veteran and medical volunteers providing medical assistance in remote areas across the globe. A firm believer that “anything worth doing is worth overdoing”, Matthew shares his inspiring and motivating story of chasing big goals and creating positive change.
