Jessica Geary

Jessica Geary was appointed Executive Director of the Legislative Affairs Agency in February 2018; she has over seventeen years of Agency experience, including seven years as the Finance Manager and seven months as Deputy Director. The Legislative Affairs Agency is the non-partisan support agency which conducts the administrative functions of the Alaska State Legislature.

Ms. Geary is proud of her service in support of the Legislature and appreciates the important role of this unique branch of government. She enjoys working with people and assisting legislators and staff with the legislative process. Ms. Geary has a strong accounting background; she loves crunching numbers and ensuring budgets are appropriately spent—a perfect fit for her new role.

Ms. Geary was born and raised in Juneau, Alaska and obtained her degree from the University of Alaska Southeast. Ms. Geary and her husband of fifteen years, Jon, continue to make their home in Juneau where they co-own a successful construction business. They have three children – their three children, as well as the recent addition of Neva, a pug puppy. To recharge, she enjoys traveling, reading, visiting the family’s remote cabin, fishing, hiking, and spending time with her family.
