Joe Kolman

Joe Kolman is a policy consultant and staffs the Wildfires & Disaster Preparedness Committee and Education & Workforce Development Committee. He also serves as a state liaison to Idaho.

Most recently, Joe worked for a federal land management agency as a state liaison. Prior to that, he spent 19 years as nonpartisan staff for the Montana Legislature, starting out as a research analyst and ending as the Director of Research and Environmental Policy. A Montana native, he holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Montana and wrote about state government and other issues in Montana, Nebraska, Iowa, and Idaho. He also holds a master’s degree in public administration and teaches graduate courses in state government and performance management.
