Will Keyse serves as the Professional Development Manager for The Council of State Governments (CSG) West. In this role, he oversees the organization’s professional development initiatives for elected state officials and nonpartisan legislative staff. These programs include the Western Legislative Academy, Legislative Service Agency and Research Directors (LSA/RD) Committee, WESTrain, and the Annual Legislative Training Assembly. In 2023, Will helped design and launch the Leadership Excellence for Nonpartisan Staff (LENS) program, which convenes virtually each fall. Will provides ongoing support to the CSG West Annual Meeting and other leadership trainings across the CSG network, and he serves as the liaison to the legislatures in Colorado and Hawaii.
Prior to joining CSG West in 2022, Will served as a program manager for El Pomar Foundation, a philanthropic organization based in Colorado Springs with an emphasis on community leadership development and investing in rural communities across Colorado. He brings experience as a freelance writer, recruiter, and nonprofit board member to his work at CSG West.
A passionate citizen of the American West, Will lives in Sacramento, California and is a native of Denver, Colorado. He holds a degree in Comparative Politics and Spanish Language from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington
