2026 Session Recaps

From artificial intelligence and quantum computing to housing affordability, wildfire resilience, nuclear energy, and the future of the Western grid, the 79th CSG West Annual Meeting brought legislators and experts together to examine some of the most consequential policy issues facing Western states.

The 2026 Session Recaps capture key insights, data, policy examples, and takeaways from sessions across CSG West’s policy committees and Chair’s Forums. Together, they offer an accessible way to revisit these discussions, learn from approaches underway across the West, and identify ideas that can inform policy discussions and decision-making

Sessions focus on emerging issues, engage policymakers on their states’ respective approaches, and offer an opportunity to learn about innovations that improve legislation and regional outcomes.
