Border Legislative Programs

Through our border programs, sponsors can engage with U.S. and Mexico state lawmakers and other officials. These programs are designed to further binational cooperation and enhance policy-makers’ abilities to address shared concerns.

The Border Legislative Academy (BLA), launched 2017, in conjunction with the University of California San Diego’s Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies, will assist newer legislators of the 10 U.S.-Mexico border states to become more effective leaders.

The Border Legislative Conference (BLC), launched in 2002, is the premier facilitator for ongoing dialogue amongst state legislators in the U.S.-Mexico border region. The BLC empowers legislators to engage in the binational agenda by bringing together industry experts and leaders from both countries to discuss common challenges; share best practices; and promote innovation and collaboration.
