Representative Ed Buttrey is a 4th generation Montanan, residing in Great Falls, MT. A former weapon’s systems designer, he now owns businesses in real estate development, manufacturing, high tech, retail, restaurant, casino, resort and economic development industries.

Ed Buttrey was elected to the Montana State House in 2018, and formerly to the Montana Senate in 2010, where he has held leadership positions in each of the 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021 legislative sessions. He is the former 2 term Majority Whip in the Montana Senate and 2 term Chairman of the Senate Business, Labor and Economic Affairs Committee. He is also the past Chairman of the Senate Legislative Admin, and Senate Local Government Committees as well as past Vice Chairman of various other committees.

Currently, he serves on the House Rules Committee, House Business and Labor Committee, and the House Health and Human Services Committee.

Representative Buttrey serves as the current Chairman of Benefis Health Systems, and has also served as a Fire Department Captain, Emergency Medical Technician, Search and Rescue Director, Chairman of the Great Falls International Airport Authority, and football radio announcer. In addition to currently serving as Representative for House District 21, he also serves as the Area Chairman for Employers Support of Guard and Reserve, as a high school varsity football coach, and sits on numerous other community Boards.

He is married (Jessica) with three daughters (Kenzy, Macy, TayLee).
